About Melissa

Hmm…what to tell you about me…

I’ve been married for nearly 20 years to my husband Bill. We have 3 kids – one is an adult, one is in high school, and one is in middle school. They are the JOY of my life. We’ve been homeschooling since before it was cool. If there is any such thing as a bible study junkie, that is definitely me. I am also a coffee addict who loves Thai food. T-shirts and jeans make up the majority of my closet. And, I love quiet time at home on the back patio – #proudintrovert.

I gave my heart to Jesus as a little girl at summer camp, got baptized as a teenager, and found my purpose as an adult. Teaching and helping others wade through the pain they’ve been through to uncover their true selves is my passion. My story is a mix of really painful chapters, incredibly joyful ones, and everything in between mixed in. Through every chapter God has proven Himself to be faithful in my life. The wisdom and the lessons I’ve learned are what I share here with others to help them find their way.

Communication will make or......

Unraveling Normal: Exposing the Dysfunctional Family

No family is perfect. A critical component to our emotional health, personal growth, and spiritual maturity is identifying the unhealthy habits of our families of origin. To grow past dysfunctional family patterns, we must take an honest assessment of our childhood years and even our present-day family dynamics. This assessment is the difference between being......
